Our Stories Matter: Tierah

Tierah* is a single mom of a teenager. She recently lost her job and as a result, lost her car. Things continued to spiral as she was evicted from her home. 

She was able to obtain emergency shelter at a local hotel through Giving Grace. She chose to participate in the Rise With Grace program and is currently receiving case management from Giving Grace staff, along with a volunteer coach to provide wrap around support.

Tierah is courageous and is persevering through this trial. 

She shared with her Case Manager, “I’m keeping my faith and continue to pray.” Her Case Manager agreed with encouragement and reminded her that God has a plan for her.

As she continued to work through the program and obtain resources, a generous Giving Grace donor provided a vehicle for her. 

With help from her coach, she created a strong resume and soon after started a new job!

Just a few days ago, Tierah and her child were approved for an apartment. The Giving Grace team will assist with the move and provide basic necessities to get her started in her new place.

Tierah’s story reminds us that perseverance and determination are key to forward motion and having a supportive team to help when times are tough makes all the difference! To equip those in need with relationships and resources is always the goal for the Giving Grace team!
