Giving stock or other appreciated securities can generate a charitable deduction and tax savings.

Donors receive a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the securities gifted to Giving Grace if owned for more than one year, no matter what you originally paid for them. The donor will pay no capital gains tax on the gain in the securities gifted. Always consult your tax advisor for application of these laws to your personal tax situation.

Most securities transfers are handled electronically to our brokerage account directly from yours. If you need to gift securities in certificate form or have other questions, please contact accounting@givinggrace.org.
