Our Stories Matter: Brandy

Upon contacting Giving Grace, I had no idea how I was going to become self-sufficient, how to take control of my life, or where I was going to end up.

I had lost all hope, with no sense of direction. I decided to take the leap of faith and join the Shelter Case Management program. The first night living in the shelter, I felt welcomed, loved, safe, and that everything was gonna be all right. I was able to find a better job and housing. I was asked to be a part of the Rise with Grace Case Management program. By participating in this program, I have joined a community of people who have come from a similar background. I have learned how to become more in control of my mental health and finances and it has strengthened my faith.

I will say, being in this program has helped me to see the glory of God and encouraged me to continue striving for my goals and seeking God’s face.

With Giving Grace’s support, I have maintained my housing for 2 years. I am also currently working as a Lead Teacher at a daycare, after just 2 ½ months of employment, I became one of their Rising Stars and received the employee of the month award in September.

Thank you so much Giving Grace for all the love, resources, patience, and guidance.
