Brittany's Story

Giving Grace believes that the holistic care of case management should be individualized and personalized. This type of care is the best way for our families to find a way to receive resources and materials and help empower them and change their lives. Case manager Carol Meade walked alongside Brittany Taylor in her journey through Giving Grace’s case management program this past year, and her story is inspirational and moving.

Brittany was living in her car in a Walmart parking lot when she finally decided to pick up the phone and call Giving Grace for help. “It was a pretty rock bottom kind of day. I was living in my car with my two children, my son was four and my daughter was three. I had just lost my job... we had just been robbed that week of all my savings and it was devastating to be in that kind of position. So, I'm so grateful that I could contact Giving Grace and get in touch with someone who cared that I had a safe place to stay that night and make sure that I was taken care of. You made me feel welcome.”

Through our Rise with Grace program, Brittany worked tirelessly since the summer of 2019 to get to where she is now. Her case manager Carol says “I met Brittany Taylor almost two years ago. She called the office and I happened to be picked up the call. She was crying so hard I could not understand a word she said! I told her ‘I don't really know what's going on in your life right now, but, let me pray for you.’ After that, I suggested she come to our office to meet face-to-face and see what we could do. From that meeting through to this very day, Brittany has held a special place in my heart. I have been her case manager since the summer of 2019. From then until now, Brittany has worked hard and achieved so much. She completed her Bachelor's of Education (with honors!) and simultaneously achieved her master's as well, which will be conferred in August of this year. Beyond that, her family has stabilized, her life is hopeful, and her spirit is a contagious joy to anyone who meets her.”

Recently, Brittany was blessed with a $5,000 furniture shopping spree from BT furnishings. BT reached out to Giving Grace wanting to give back to the community. They are a business dedicated to transforming lives, homes, and communities. Brittany won this fantastic gift from BT furnishings and could pick out furniture with her fiancé for her home completely free of charge.

A success story like Brittany's is the kind you hope to see. From living in her car to getting her master's degree in education. Brittany’s future is bright, and everyone at Giving Grace is proud of her accomplishments.
